Mohammed has nine children. To survive, they work together to do small trading jobs as well as mining. His wife sells rice bags, palm oil, salt, and onions in the city of Koidu, while Mohammed sells any diamond he finds to visiting buyers. Mohammed does not work with any mining company due to a lack of trust and mines his land entirely by himself.
